Seekh Kabab

 Seekh Kabab

Seekh kabab is a popular Pakistani and South Asian dish made from minced or ground meat, typically lamb, beef, or chicken, mixed with a blend of aromatic spices and herbs. The mixture is then molded onto skewers or sticks, which are often referred to as "seekh," hence the name "seekh kabab." These skewers are then grilled or cooked in an oven, giving the kababs their distinctive smoky and charred flavor.
Here is a basic recipe for making seekh kababs:

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of minced meat (lamb, beef, or chicken)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, finely chopped

  • Take a small portion of the mixture and mold it onto a skewer, shaping it into a cylindrical or oblong shape. Make sure it sticks to the skewer securely. Repeat this process with the remaining mixture.
  • Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using a grill, you can brush the kababs with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  • Grill the seekh kababs for about 10-15 minutes, turning them occasionally to ensure even cooking. They should be cooked until they are browned and cooked through.
  • Once the seekh kababs are cooked, remove them from the skewers and serve hot with mint chutney, sliced onions, and naan or roti.                                                                                             Seekh kababs are a delightful addition to any Indian or South Asian meal, and they are also great for barbecues and picnics. You can adjust the spice level and seasoning to suit your taste preferences. Enjoy!
